Zoie has 4 teeth now! Very exciting until she decided yesterday that I was a teether and bit my arm! She's healthy and growing like a weed. At her 6 month appointment she was 15lbs and 28 inches. Shes long and lean. She sits up on her own but hasn't quite mastered crawling. She keeps pushing herself backwards instead of forwards and getting mad. Everyday is an adventure with her.
We are dedicating her at Ridge Point Community Church on August 21. The service is at 7:30pm and all are welcome.
Leo's been traveling a lot so it has been an adjustment for us. I miss him a ton and I know that Zoie does too; but it makes us value our time together so much more.
We have been very active in our church. I have a job there and absolutely love it. I plan on doing this job for a long time. It is part time and plays to all of my abilities. I am happy to be able to focus on my family while having something that I do for me.
Overall, life is good. We are very happy with where we are and look forward to whatever God has next.
Here is a pic of Leo and Zoie so you can see just how much she looks like her Papi!

We finally finished the baby's room!!!! Can't wait to share it with you all! It is definitely a room she can grow into as well. It will work for a little girl as well as a baby. Also, Zoie reached out to go to Leo for the first time today! It was so cute to see her lean out of my arms with arms reaching hard to get to Papi! My little girl is growing up so fast!!!

So, I know I haven't updated this in a while so I'm playing catch up. Zoie Raquel Morales was born on January 21, 2010. On the 20th I was 10 days overdue and feeling miserable. That morning I wasn't feeling her move as much as I normally do so I called the doctor and he told me to go into triage. While I was there, they told me that she was doing fine but that my blood pressure was a bit high. They decided to admit me and we agreed to start the process of ripening my cervix with the use of Misoprostol. After 4 hours of this treatment, I was still only a centimeter dilated. So we decided to use cervidil (which is a 12 hour treatment) overnight and induce in the morning. This was at about 9pm. By midnight I was in full blown labor! This would have been fine, but Zoie's heart rate began dropping rapidly. At it's lowest it was 50 bpm! Also, my contractions were less than a minute apart. So they broke my water to better monitor the baby's heart rate. They also tried to slow my contractions with a couple shots of I don't even remember now what it was. At 3 in the morning, after 3 hours of being on my hands and knees on and off and other uncomfortable positions, we decided to have a c-section. And at 4:38am she was born! Such a crazy night, but such a happy morning! She is beautiful! We love her more than we can say!
